CursorMana

A glowing neon ring for your macOS cursor.

About

CursorMana adds a customizable glowing neon ring around your cursor — a tiny upgrade that makes a huge difference for presentations, screen recordings, livestreams, and pair-programming sessions.

It includes a live cursor-area zoom feature triggered by a user-defined global shortcut, click effects (ripple / pulse / hold), an elastic ring trail that stretches behind the cursor as you move, and full customization of color, glow, corner shape, rotation, and more.

FAQ

The neon ring is not appearing on my screen.

Open CursorMana → Settings → General and make sure Enable Effect is on. Also check the menu bar status item (the small CursorMana glyph at the top right of your screen).

I enabled Zoom but the shortcut doesn't trigger.

The Zoom feature listens for a global keyboard shortcut, which requires the Accessibility permission. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility and ensure CursorMana is checked. If it's not in the list, press your configured shortcut once while CursorMana is running — macOS will add it as a candidate.

The Zoom view is empty / black.

Zoom uses macOS Screen Recording. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording and ensure CursorMana is checked, then restart the app. macOS only fully activates the permission after a restart.

The ring disappears or flickers when switching Spaces.

CursorMana rebuilds its overlay automatically when you change Mission Control Spaces, so brief flicker during the swipe animation is expected. If the ring doesn't reappear at all on the new Space, please contact support with the macOS version and number of attached displays.

How do I reset my settings?

Quit CursorMana, then run this in Terminal:

defaults delete com.yutonakanishi.cursormana

Relaunch the app and all preferences will be back to their defaults.

Does CursorMana send any data over the network?

No. CursorMana does not connect to the internet, does not collect any data, and does not phone home. See the Privacy Policy for details.
